Fossil Fuels

Fossil fuels are natural energy sources formed from the decomposed remains of ancient plants and animals that have been subjected to heat and pressure over millions of years. The main types of fossil fuels include coal, oil (petroleum), and natural gas. These fuels are primarily composed of carbon and hydrogen and are utilized as energy sources for electricity generation, heating, and powering vehicles. When burned, fossil fuels release carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases, contributing to climate change and environmental pollution. As a result, there is ongoing discussion and movement towards renewable energy sources to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and mitigate their environmental impact.
