Climate Change

Climate change refers to significant and lasting changes in the Earth’s climate, particularly those related to rising global temperatures. It is primarily driven by human activities, especially the burning of fossil fuels, deforestation, and industrial processes that increase the concentration of greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide and methane in the atmosphere. These gases trap heat from the sun, leading to a variety of impacts including rising sea levels, altered weather patterns, more frequent and severe extreme weather events, and disruptions to ecosystems and biodiversity. Climate change also poses significant risks to human health, agriculture, water supplies, and economic stability, necessitating global efforts to mitigate its effects and adapt to the changing climate.
